At Pediatric InterActions, LLC. we offer an innovative approach to social development. Our groups are based on developmental age of the participants and structured to allow children to learn while having fun. We have developed the fundamental structure of our social groups on the following ideas:
* Children learn best in play situations
* Children learn best through peer models
* Children learn best when the activities to improve learning are fun and appealing
* Children reach their goals when therapy is designed to meet individual needs
The unique formula developed by Pediatric InterActions allows children to learn social skills in the company of typically developing peers. The sessions are administered by TWO professionals which may include a behavior analyst, speech pathologist or physical therapist. All sessions will emphasize development of appropriate social skills; however the sessions will be designed to include a motor or communication emphasis. This maintains children’s interest and addresses needs such as coordination or language in a fun setting.
Foundation skills can be developed in individual sessions and applied to social skills groups. Intakes are conducted prior to entrance into the social skills groups to best determine your child’s skill level and appropriate placement.
